How it works under the hood

Nonlinear-A uses Glyphs3 to generate UFO sources and builds them to a TTF using fontmake with on the fly generated designspace. This technique is described by Fredrick Brennan in the FontForge-HOI. HOI is explained by Underware in the Higher Order Interpolation for Variable Fonts.
